Puffin
A return to more mundane birding with the Black Browed Albatross now doing its own thing, somewhere off the coast of Britain! An early start again with few people until on the reserve at Bempton Cliffs. Social distancing is not a problem unless you want to go on the viewpoints which can be rather crowded, even at 0600hrs. A bright morning, mild but with a very strong south westerly blow.
Gannets...
"Playing dead" to confuse!
Puffins...
The Puffling in the nest near Grandstand viewpoint continues to grow, serviced by both of its parents. Unfortunately, when the parent birds fly in with sand eels, they fly straight into the nest, making fish in mouth images virtually impossible! One day, maybe, pleaseeeeeeee!
Kittiwakes...
Late breeder? Failed breeder? Time will tell
When you're alone and vulnerable, the cliffs can be a very scary place!
Loved or loathed, Herring Gull chicks are really quite cute!...
