Adult Gannet with its Guga
With the promise of a glorious day, it would've been rude not to take advantage of it and what better way than walking the Bempton circular? I suspected it would be busy on Bempton Cliffs Reserve and it was, far too busy for me! Again, I could not get on to Jubilee Corner viewpoint and it took some manoeuvring to get a view on Bartlett Nab and Grandstand. I think the time may have come to concentrate on Bempton away from the viewpoints.
Hoddy Cows Lane was quiet, but I just about got images of this flighty Corn Bunting...
The Peregrines were active off Buckton Cliffs...
Not a lot of change on the cliffs with the Gannets and Kittiwakes. Razorbills and Guillemots are still present but numbers are diminishing. Those that are left are probably non-breeders, failed breeders or female birds, as the males usually accompany their offspring out to sea. Puffins are still showing but often elusive.
Gannet Life...
Puffins can be elusive but do show quite well on occasions...
Once a Kittiwake chick fledges from the ledges, it is often referred to as a "Tarrock" in its first year. I didn't manage to see any in flight, but this one is ready to go...
And finally, Linnets, which can be tricky to capture as they are notoriously flighty birds...
