Bempton Circular Walk - 24th July 2020

Gannet

Well, we were promised a good day weather wise, so I should've expected a brightish start, clouding over to a very dull day and drizzle! And weather forecasters actually get paid! Making the most of it,I walked with Symphony around the Bempton circular, but in reverse, i.e. starting up Cliff Lane and ending on Hoddy Cows Lane.

Not so many people on the cliffs first thing and no "unsocial hogging"! Wildlife wise, it was very quiet on the lanes so most images were taken on the cliffs. It is very noticeable that the Razorbill and Guillemot numbers have reduced dramatically (as they do from the end of June). No Puffins on the cliffs either, so probably both parents feeding on the sea as their Pufflings demand more sand eels!

Gannet Life

Gannet Gugas regularly play "dead" on their nests. It's great fun making visitors anxious for there welfare!

I regard this nest as the nicest on the cliffs!

"It's the way I tell 'em!" "It's a cracker!"

Kittiwakes

Razorbill

Guillemots

Herring Gull

Linnets

Male Reed Bunting

Roe Deer with two young

And finally, some general views
