My Favourite LBJ! (Little Brown Job!) - 13th June 2014

Spotted Flycatcher

What could be nicer? Peace, tranquillity and warm (very) sunshine? Add to that a bird that would probably be overlooked by many - the Spotted Flycatcher. These birds are quite scarce now and most sites are not well publicised in order that disturbance is kept to a minimum.

  1. Cracking photos. Definitely a lot scarcer nowadays, still not seen one this year.

  2. Thank you Lee. I remember when they occurred regularly in our garden! Those were the days!

  3. They are brilliant photos and I really enjoyed them as I haven't seen a spotted flycatcher yet this year. From Findlay

  4. Hi Findlay and thank you! It's a good time to touch base with Spotted Flycatchers as many are fledging so the parents are most active. I hope you get one (or more!) soon.
