Redshank
Headed out to Brandon Marsh this morning, hoping that something interesting might be lurking in the area. As usual, I left disappointed, especially as I couldn't locate a "visually impaired warbler" !!! The day was very warm and humid but also very dull. Teal Pool held three Redshanks and a Green Sandpiper, a Kingfisher briefly visited Carlton Pool, a Sparrowhawk with prey set up the Lapwings on East Marsh Pool, where further Redshanks and four Oystercatchers were located. Two Shelduck were almost hidden in the vegetation on the East Marsh islands that may have hidden small waders! Overall, 52 bird species so not bad!
Redshank
Green Sandpiper
Shelduck
Lesser Black Backed Gull
Bee Orchid
Common Spotted Orchid (?)

ReplyDeleteI never worry about finding a rarity. If I see one, a bonus, but I enjoy all of what's there equally.
It was Keith. I enjoy what I see and do my best to make my images interesting. I cannot justify distant journeys to see the rares but do get depressed when local birders go but never offer a shared cost lift!
