Bempton Cliffs Walk (Wildlife) - 26th September 2023

Corn Bunting

I hardly ever plan photography on my walks, preferring to see what I see when I see it. Mainly, it is photographing the great outdoors and capturing moments in time. This mornings walk was a little later than normal due to cloud cover, but this quickly started to break up and provided a superb "secondary sunrise", before clouds again massed. Birds are thinning out on the cliffs, mainly Gannets (some still with Gugas), Auks can be seen on the sea (Razorbills & Guillemots), Owls are being reported (Short-eared and Barn), but they eluded me this morning!

Best bird of the morning was this Corn Bunting (uncommon now), obliging me on Cliff Lane

Gannets are the dominant birds on the cliffs now, many still with Gugas, some still showing white down

This Guga is ready to fledge

A random Wood Pigeon!

Hanging in there!

Grey Seal with breakfast (400ft below me and a little way out!)

All images taken with Sony RX10 Mk4.

Thank you for looking.
