Looking for chips!
March 1st and the first day of meteorological spring! It certainly was a challenging day weather wise, with waves of rain showers interspersed with bright periods and quite cool. Another challenge was finding birds! It was heading towards high tide, but no waders could be found on the south side rocks, very little in the harbour or within binocular viewing of the bay.
Eventually found a few Turnstones
The wader high tide "roost" on the back of the fish dock held Redshanks, Dunlins and Turnstones
A Cormorant managed lunch in the harbour entrance
Very few people were about. Indeed, at c1300hrs the harbour was almost deserted and the food outlets closed
Thank you for looking.
