Swan Lake @ Filey Dams - 18th February 2020

Mute Swan

A quick visit to Filey Dams this morning had me thinking, at first, it would be more interesting to watch paint dry! But the entertainment had not yet started. Three graceful Mute Swans were on the pools, two an obvious pairing with a third interloper. The three could not get on and were constantly on the move, at great speed, both on the water and in flight. A great deal of time was spent preening and a similar amount of time chasing around. It was very entertaining and my images do not give their actions the credit they deserve. Maybe I should try video?

A separate blog page relates to the supporting cast of other birds.
