Supporting Cast to Swan Lake @ Filey Dams - 18th February 2020

Teal

This blog page follows on from Swan Lake @ Filey Dams. Not a bad short visit to the dams this morning, nothing exceptional around but an entertaining couple of hours. Three Mute Swans, three Shelduck, four Shoveler (3m 1f), two Oystercatcher, one Great Spotted Woodpecker, three Lapwings, one Great Black Backed Gull, nine flyover Curlew, and one Sparrowhawk. Plus of course the expected wildfowl and passerines.

Walking through the small woodland it was nice to spot this male Great Spotted Woodpecker

On one of the banks, I was amazed to see two Moorhens entertaining themselves in a game of leap frog! 😏😏😂😂

A fly past of Teal

Tufted Ducks

One of the three Shelducks, flashing a Herring Gull!

Shoveler

Overall, an interesting and entertaining couple of hours!
