The great crested grebe made me chuckle they're just not suited to walking on land. Well done on the GWE it's been my bird of the winter, what will be interesting will be to see if they remain or if like last year we get all the gwe's in the county showing up at Summer Leys before moving off, it was roughly this time last year we had three birds flying around the reserve before departing which was impressive
ReplyDeleteCheers Doug. The grebe was distant but as you say, so comical! The GWE surprised by appearing so close. Initial views were typical - distant, part hidden and a struggle!
