Waxwings - 7th November 2022

Youve just got to love Waxwings! Not having seen one for several years, I was pleased to see them being reported at Eastfield Industrial Estate near Scarborough. I knew as soon as they were reported that photographers would "flock" to see them and not liking crowds, gambled on leaving it a few days! The gamble paid off with two Waxwings being reported in the same area, so Heather and I set out to see them. Arriving at the location a small group of six birder/photographers were present, a super group, taking great pleasure in seeing the birds, for some, a life tick. The downside was the strong wind and dull light. Below is a compilation of record images!

Let's hope these Waxwings are the forerunners of a Waxwing Winter!

All images take handheld with Canon 7D Mk2 and 400mm 5.6 prime lens.
