Gannet with ready to fledge Guga
It has been well over a week since we walked to Bempton Cliffs, so would there be any changes? Most wildlife interest has turned to the scrub and wooded areas with some good migrant birds turning up. Of course, I failed to see most of those reported, but I did get two Garden Warblers as a year tick! On the cliff ledges the dominant birds are now the Gannets. I'm told that avian flu has affected the breeding Gannets around Staple Newk, but I did not go and see for myself. Gugas are now fledging.
