Sunrise walk to Bempton Cliffs - 7th November 2020
Sunrise this morning promised to be fantastic especially when combined with low lying mist! Setting out an hour before sunrise, the sky was already showing good signs, but I had concerns about the increasing mist. I needn't have worried and succeeded in my aims (I think?). My walk up Cliff Lane enabled me to capture the phenomina commonly referred to as "the Belt of Venus", just above the horizon.
I made my way to New Rollup viewpoint and waited for the sun to appear and was treated to a golden glow!
The golden sunrise unfolded into a gorgeous late autumn day with wall to wall blue sky and sunshine!
On the cliff ledges could be heard the "gutteral growls" of Guillemots, with hundreds present again for the second day.
Groups and individual Gannets could be seen in flight, these just managing to capture the golden glow of the sunrise
This mornings walk certainly got the day off to a good start!
Please stay safe and follow all of the governments current Covid-19 guidelines.
