Flamborough Head - 1st October 2020

Relaxation!

With some good birds being reported on Flamborough Headland, I decided to give it a go with Symphony in tow. Starting at the lighthouse, motorway, coastal path, old fall, golf course willows, bay brambles, fog horn and back to the lighthouse. Got to be good? Well, no, probably the worst walk I've done! Where were the birds, where were the birders or was it another case of "Kevin's out lets clear out"?

A large bird of prey flew over old fall heading for the lighthouse. I wasn't sure as it appeared very dark so put it down as a dark Marsh Harrier. A few minutes later a possible Black Kite was suggested by a birder near the lighthouse, but no further reports. I've never seen a Black Kite 😭! Best of the day was a Merlin over the lighthouse carpark, several Red Throated Divers on the sea and two Stonechats on the lighthouse grassland. Every skulking bird was a Dunnock! I saw a lot of Dunnocks!!

Maybe I should take up tiddlywinks? 😇😇😇

My camera had few activations!

Pied Wagtail

Thank goodness for the seals!

Sadly, this Seal was spotted, bloated and really quite dead 😞

'till next time........unless I do take up tiddlywinks!!!
