Bridlington Harbour Area (A Compilation of Images) - 14th October 2020

Gansey Girl

Not a bad morning for a change, light wind and sunny periods, ideal for a walk around the harbour! Heavy cloud over the horizon of Bridlington Bay put paid to any sunrise images but a little later the sun did its best to allow some photogenic images!

BANG! "Here comes the sun..................."

Interesting to see three Kittiwakes on the wall at the back of the fish dock

And finally, a bit of a rant!

Alerted by a FB friend that East Riding Council were installing netting on rear of the library in Queen Street Brid, I was dismayed to see that many of the Kittiwake nests had been removed as well. Kittiwakes are RED listed sea birds, pair for life (lifespan 12yrs+) and return to the nest sites every year. There has been c50% decline in the UK population of Kittiwakes. Shame on you East Riding Council.

Thank you for looking!
