Bempton Village to Bempton Cliffs - 5th March 2020

My first Puffin of 2020! (Heavily cropped!)

An almost perfect but cool spring morning with sunshine and blue sky just begged for a walk with Symphony up to the cliffs! So much bird song and displaying made it a good to be alive morning enabling the problems and worries of the world to be put to one side.

Arriving on the cliffs, it was a "WOW" day! All of Bempton's main eight cliff breeding birds (Gannet; Fulmar; Herring Gull; Razorbill; Guillemot; Puffin; Kittiwake; Shag) were present in varying numbers, on cliff, on the sea or in flight. Walking from Grandstand viewpoint to Bartlett Nab I probably underestimated the numbers with 10,000+ Guillemots; 200+ Razorbills; 20+ Puffins (5+ on the cliffs)!

The Puffins were quite hard to spot!! The first image has one Puffin, the following three have two!

Heavily cropped images from the above!

A good number of Guillemots, but how many in this image are Bridled?

Just a few Guillemots!

And finally, Fulmar

As I said, a good day!
