A Compilation of Auks, Bempton Cliffs - 5th April 2019

Puffin

Having spent the morning walking around South Landing, Flamborough, after lunch I decided to walk up to Bempton Cliffs to see what was about. The pleasant sunshine was deceiving once on the cliffs with the bitterly cold easterly wind doing its best to chill to the bone! However, it was a good day for the birds with all of the breeding birds present in good numbers. Yes! The Puffins were back on the cliffs!

Here is the sightings board!

I decided to concentrate on the Auks today as they have been difficult birds to touch base with over the last couple of weeks!

Razorbills

Guillemots

Puffins

And finally, not Auks but a Jackdaw!

Come on in, the water's lovely! Brrrrrrrr! (I just love the expression!

  1. Excellent news! We were thinking of visiting Bempton this weekend so that will certainly please my puffin-mad daughter.
