Hoddy Cows Lane, Buckton

This morning, I felt I needed some "me" time and decided to walk from home in Bempton, through Buckton and along Hoddy Cows Lane to the cliffs. The morning was sunny with blue skies, but a cool breeze did its best to challenge me! I only met two dog walkers along the way which was lovely - thinking that about a mile away, RSPB Bempton Cliffs would be heaving! I took the opportunity to photograph the late spring colours with Pink Campion, Oil Seed Rape and Cow Parsley complementing each other. When I arrived on the cliffs, just outside the main reserve area, a sea fret was heading in and quickly overtook me as I walked back to Buckton.

New birds for the year were Lesser Whitethroat and three Corn Buntings, all in fine song. Of  specific interest was the presence of Fieldfare! The diverse nature of this walk enabled me to record forty eight bird species, a list of which can be found at the end of this post. Some of the bird images can be seen HERE
