Brandon Marsh

Willow Warbler

What an excellent day - good weather, good birds and good company! I met up with Ian B at 0700hrs and we headed over to Brandon Marsh and spent a good five hours in the field. We covered every hide at Brandon and just about the entire reserve with the exception of the farm pools area and top reed bed. A chat with Kath E and Max S who were heading to find Garden Warblers and later Francoise F.

It was good to notice increases in the numbers of Warblers around the reserve. My first Cuckoo of the year was in flight over the sheepfield, my first Little Ringed Plovers were on East Marsh and my first Common Whitethroats were on West Marsh.
