Aspects of Bridlington Harbour & Bay (Birds) - 7th October 2023

Purple Sandpiper & Turnstone

A mild, dull and overcast but breezy start to the day. Not very good light for wildlife photography coupled with limited time. As the tide came in at least twenty Purple Sandpipers mingled with a similar number of Turnstones. Four Oystercatchers but only about fifteen Redshanks. Four Kittiwakes remained on "Papas" for a time with six on the fish dock. Six Common Terns moved through, mobbed by Herring Gulls. Large numbers of Guillemots, but fewer Razorbills still linger in the Bay and a few in the harbour. Also Red Throated Divers are starting to mass.
