Wryneck Compilation, Bempton Cliffs - 6th September 2018
Yesterday (5th), I was lucky enough to touch base with my "bogey" bird, the Wryneck! Today, I returned early evening with Heather for her to life tick the bird. Wrynecks can be very secretive and elusive or very showy, the Bempton bird is certainly very showy and has no fear of humans or cars! Images seen on social media earlier in the day indicate the bird was coming within feet of birders and photographers. This evening it favoured the grassy footpath at the top of the dell where it fed on ants. What more can I say, a fabulous bird well worth making the effort to see!
