Bempton Circular Walk - 6th August 2018

Gannets on Staple Newk

With the continuing hot weather I decided to take Symphony on an early morning walk on the circular walk around Bempton.

Arriving at Buckton Pond Puddle! We need a lot of rain!!

Hoddy Cows Lane was again very quiet. Yellowhammers and Linnets flitted along the hedgerows but refused to settle, so no images!

The vistas were pleasing, though!

At the top of Hoddy Cows Lane, my first bird image - Whitethroat

Buckton and Bempton Cliffs were still busy with Gannets, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Herring Gulls and Shags. An occasional Guillemot and Razorbill flew over the sea but Puffin numbers were still high on the sea and in flight with some still with sand eels.

Competition Time! Although a good number of Puffins could be seen on the sea and in flight, very few could be seen on the cliffs. Spot the Puffin!
