Kittiwake with Tarrocks
Once again my attendance on the cliffs was limited to the morning. The weather was bright with a light wind and pleasantly mild. It is good to see new lives emerging on the cliffs - Herring Gulls, Guillemots, Razorbills, Gannets, Kittiwakes and Puffins all have young, with many more on eggs!
New life on the ledges
Kittiwake with Tarrocks
Guillemot with Jumpling
Razorbill with Jumpling
I'm not sure what is happening with this Guillemot and egg
At first it looked like an egg with "poop" on it but closer inspection showed damage / cracking. It also appears to have a chick emerging but in several hours, very little progress was made.
It was also a good Puffin day with excellent views on all of the viewpoints
Away from the cliffs, I attempted to get a decent image of a Reed Bunting with this male fitting the bill!
And finally, todays sightings:
Hopefully, next week I should be on the cliffs for full days! Will I see you there?
