New Years Day 2018 - Desert Wheatear!

Whitby Abbey headland has been hosting a Desert Wheatear for some time now and some fantastic images have been appearing! What better way to kick start your 2018 year list than a visit to pay homage to what was only my second bird (first was Bridlington in 2016). When we arrived, it was worrying that birders could be seen all around the public rights of way suggesting the bird was not showing. However, after a couple of minutes, the bird appeared on a dry stone wall much to my relief. It certainly showed well, commuting between the wall, fence posts and coming down to puddles to drink. A fantastic start to 2018!

Happy New Year!

And a few out takes.......!

A photographer, I'm off.......!

I'm not sure which way round I should be.....!
