An Evening with Puffins! A Grandstand View!

Arriving home!

This evening was bright and sunny but the wind was very strong and challenged anyone daring to stand on a viewpoint at RSPB Bempton Cliffs! Reports have been received that the nesting Puffins at Grandstand viewpoint have been observed carrying sand eels into the nest. I decided to have a look, spending a couple of hours here, but although both birds were observed, no food was delivered. Worth keeping a watch though and any images of Puffins carrying food need to be sent to Project Puffin LINK.

While watching the birds in flight from Grandstand viewpoint, it was noticeable that many of the Auks (Puffin, Guillemot and Razorbill) were carrying fish, probably sand eels!

We may be part of the same family but I'm not with him!

Do you have a sand eel I could borrow?
