Having suffered a day of continuous rain on Saturday, it was great to wake up to a beautiful late autumn day with blue sky, blue sea and sunshine! The call of the cliffs was answered with a feeling of exhilaration and "good to be alive" together with deep thoughts of those who could no longer enjoy such days, but died to ensure that we could. Remembrance was observed outside the Seabird Centre at 1100hrs.
Bird wise, the sea had Red Throated Diver (2), Cormorants, Shags and Herring Gulls while the grasslands held male & female Stonechat, Rock Pipit (4) and Barn Owl.
Photographic opportunity again rested with the spectacular views from the cliffs, particularly those looking directly down (350/400ft) to the sea, enjoyed by a good number of visitors.

Enjoying the views!
Such fabulous views of the sea & craggy cliffs & presume one needs a head for heights to feel safe in the viewpoint! We have a pub here with an outside terrace on the clifftop overlooking Pegwell Bay (miniscule height in comparison to Brampton) but one's eyes have to adjust looking down at the wading birds! Superb pics of my favourite BoP, my Mr K came today with his breakfast to eat on telegraph pole opposite my house! Thanks for sharing Kevin!
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy. Having a barrier on the viewpoints helps. However, fishermen fish from the cliff tops, unrestrained and on a 400ft drop! Now that is scary!
ReplyDeleteHow on earth can the fishermen see their floats from that height.
ReplyDeleteI fail to understand the logic, Mike! At night they are on the edge with just head torches (scary!). Every one to their own!
