The power of the sea below Staple Newk
Today at RSPB Bempton Cliffs was rather a challenge! The wind was very strong (understatement!) and gave a good example of "Take your breath away"! I now know what a dog experiences when it sticks it head out of a car window. I am no lightweight, but in places I must have resembled someone intoxicated with one step forward and three back! I must have resembled the elderly male on the traffic sign seen near homes for the elderly! I tried to remember the words of the sea shanty "Blow the man down...." as I was blown across the path from fence to fence and at times having to grab the fence to slow me down when the wind increased my speed to Olympic standards! It was certainly "invigorating" and made me feel at one with nature! Today was unique in another way - I did not take an image of a single bird! Instead, my attention was drawn to the power of the sea and wind.
Beautiful photos - Bempton Cliffs in a storm have a magnificent beauty! I remember sea spume being blown down into the village in my younger days!
