Shorelark
It was not forecast to be a good day today at the cliffs with rain on the cards from mid-morning. After a cloudy, dull start the rain arrived with a vengeance around 1100hrs! The poor weather paled into insignificance with two life ticks, Pallas's Warbler and Dusky Warbler and two year ticks, male Bullfinch and Shore Lark! It was not a good day for photography with the dullness requiring a maximum ISO of 1600 and even then the speed was not fast enough, resulting in the deletion of most of my images! When the rain came, I felt "at one with nature", I was surrounded by nature and the only one on the nature trail! Also in the vicinity were large numbers of Goldcrests, Bramblings, Fieldfares, Redwings and I also managed a Lesser Whitethroat.
When people mention "bike sheds", my mind wanders to my teenage years and the unmentionable activities behind the bike sheds! Today, however, the action was in front of the Bempton bike shed, with a very confiding Shore Lark! At least I managed some 1600 ISO images which basically saved the day photographically!

Aahaaa! ... my favourite 'cheeseburger' bird ... always the first thought when I see pics of it with the raised crest ... never seen one for real, would love to! Thanks for braving the weather & letting me share yours Kevin
