Eastern Crowned Warbler (with breakfast!)
It's a lovely morning with clear blue skies, sunshine and an autumnal feel from a challenging easterly blow - what better conditions to have another look at the Eastern Crowned Warbler (4th only record in the UK!). The crowds were gathering when Heather and I arrived, centred on the public footpath and all looking up into the trees. The Warbler was soon located, giving Heather a life tick, but as usual was speedily dashing through the bushes, often behind foliage. It kept great company with numerous Yellow Browed Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Goldcrests and a pair of Brambling! Overhead, eight Barnacle Geese headed east. I'm a happy bunny though as I managed (at last) a reasonable image of the Warbler, with part of its breakfast! Also, I thought I would share a couple of images that summed up my failures in getting this bird at the end of my lens!
Majority of my images of Eastern Crowned Warbler! (Yes the bird is present in both!)
