RSPB Bempton Cliffs and it's Glorious Gannets - 11th September 2016
Another extremely pleasant day on the cliffs, sunshine, blue skies but with a sometimes cool breeze. There is still a lot of activity with Gannets being the most numerous birds, many Gugas ready to fledge the cliffs, but equally many more with several weeks to reach this stage. Fulmars are very evident around the cliffs and gliding over the waves. A good number of Shag are seen on the water or in low flight and Herring Gulls with juveniles are still in evidence on the ledges. Large numbers of Swallows and House Martins are taking advantage of the many insects before their migration.
First time breeders with a still young Guga
Glorious Gannets!
Grass is still being collected and taken back to the nests
Ouch!
