Brandon Marsh - 16th July 2014

Kingfisher

Brandon Marsh this morning was pleasant to walk around, Ian and I visited every hide, but it was rather quiet, as can be expected at this time of the year! Waders were few and far between, but eventually we found single numbers of Green Sandpiper (Teal Pool), Common Sandpiper and Little Ringed Plover (East Marsh Pool) with two Oystercatchers mobile around the pools. I decided to travel light today with the Canon 100-400mm lens and of course, regretted not having the 500mm on a couple of occasions!

The most interesting aspect of today was the "Natures Drama on the Carlton Pool" - subject to an earlier blog post DRAMA!

Not a large list of birds were recorded but a great day was enjoyed.

Willow Warbler

Sedge Warbler

Kingfisher

Comma Butterfly
