A day in North Norfolk - 9th July 2014

A rare visit these days to the North Norfolk Coast saw Ian and myself setting out at 0400hrs with the aim of being on the coast for 0600hrs! We arrived at 0615hrs, so not bad really! Unfortunately, the word of the day was "distance" with reference to the miles travelled and the positioning of the birds!

It was good to arrive at an empty Titchwell car park and no other person was seen until about 0800hrs! First image of the day was a Jay enjoying the feeders but in very poor light, so quite pleased with the result!

A list of bird species seen can be found at the end of this post but a year tick in the form of four Spoonbills was really good (even though Cley had sixteen!). Typical of the day, they refused to come close! The beach was "interesting"! Not much in the way of birds, but the strong northerly blow guaranteed a good "sand blasting"!
