Common Whitethroat
An early morning visit arriving just after 0500hrs gave me the reserve to myself! Warblers were in full song, notably, Reed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Garden Warbler and Sedge Warbler. East Marsh Pool held the male and female Red Crested Pochards, four Oystercatchers, four Redshanks, two Little Ringed Plovers and one Shoveler. The feral Barnacle Goose was parading on the golf course. No sign or sound of the Nightingale while I was at Carlton Hide and no reeling Grasshopper Warblers. A species list can be found at the end of this post.
