Tufted Duck

My first day in the field after my rather horrid gastric malady and of course the weather forecast was rather inclement. With this in mind, I headed to Marsh Lane where the hides are close together, and I have not visited for several months. The cool north wind was a challenge, but I laughed at the showers as I sat comfortably in the hides with my coffee! A few more year ticks came my way in the form of five Common Terns, a brief view of a singing Reed Warbler, and the resident Black Swan. The bushes and hedgerows were alive with song, with at least four Blackcaps and five Willow Warblers. Five Oystercatchers and six Redshanks vociferously heralded their presence, with two Little Ringed Plovers and one Ringed Plover. Full sightings at the end of this post.
