Bempton Cliffs Sunrise Walk - 14th December 2024

The weather of late has been rather horrid and depressing, with grey, dark skies and moisture. The weather forecast for this morning suggested a window of opportunity may open, with sunshine and blue sky. This opportunity had to be grasped and we walked up to Bempton Cliffs. As often happens, a thick bank of cloud sat above the eastern horizon, sadly diluting any hope of a decent sunrise. The pre-sunrise was quite good, but it soon became obvious that the sunrise would be "secondary" as it was delayed appearing over the cloud bank. On these occasions, it is usually already too bright and burns out the landscape.

Pre-sunrise

What should have been sunrise!

The sun finally appears!

Just happy to get a decent morning!

Thank you for looking.
