A pleasant but cool walk this morning on Cliff Lane, Bempton, but not venturing on to the cliffs. The sky was clear, but the annoyingly thick cloud base lingered on the eastern horizon. This, of course, meant a "secondary" sunrise as the sun appeared over the top of the cloud base, resulting in it becoming too bright very quickly. Great to be part of it, in the great outdoors!

Not a bad morning for a sunrise walk in Bridlington. On this occasion the pre-sunrise was more of an occasion than the actual sunrise which sadly "blew out" as it appeared on the horizon!

The weather of late has been rather horrid and depressing, with grey, dark skies and moisture. The weather forecast for this morning suggested a window of opportunity may open, with sunshine and blue sky. This opportunity had to be grasped and we walked up to Bempton Cliffs. As often happens, a thick bank of cloud sat above the eastern horizon, sadly diluting any hope of a decent sunrise. The pre-sunrise was quite good, but it soon became obvious that the sunrise would be "secondary" as it was delayed appearing over the cloud bank. On these occasions, it is usually already too bright and burns out the landscape.

What should have been sunrise!
The sun finally appears!
Just happy to get a decent morning!

The Reverend had business in Scarborough this morning enabling myself and Symphony to wander around the harbour area. Another day incorporating various degrees of dullness, and very quiet bird wise! Still, we were part of the great outdoors!
