Bempton Circular Walk - 12th July 2019

A very warm and predominantly sunny morning led me to walk the Bempton circular walk (with Symphony of course). Arriving at Buckton, I couldn't resist taking images of the small area of poppies

Buckton pond was quiet with the single Coot chick growing but still supported by its parents, several Moorhens with chicks and of course, the Canada Geese.

Hoddy Cows Lane was quite oppressive in the heat ( I was sweating like a pig in a pork butchers!) but gave me the opportunity to take images of butterflies, notably,

Red Admiral

Ringlet

"There are no flies on me!"

Painted Lady (all looking very tatty)

Bird wise, Hoddy Cows Lane held

Yellowhammer

Dunnock

Pheasant

Whitethroat and juvenile Goldfinch

Chiffchaff

Also present were Wren, Chaffinch, Meadow Pipit, Skylark and Reed Bunting.

On Bempton Cliffs, the glorious Gannets were performing superbly!

Kittiwake chicks are growing well and gaining their markings turning them into Tarrocks

And I couldn't get past the Puffins!

A distant Hobby enabled a year tick!

Corn Buntings are difficult birds to photograph in the area as can be seen with this distant and heavily cropped record shot on the RAF Bempton listening station!
