Bridlington Harbour - 6th February 2019

Chiffchaff

Today was market day in Bridlington which gives me the opportunity of taking several walks around the harbour with Symphony. I always hope that something interesting will turn up but of late very little has! The expected waders, Turnstone, Redshank, Dunlin and Purple Sandpiper are there but are not very photogenic, having to look down on them and seeing them covered in mud! At lunchtime today, our walk led us passed the Stirling Castle pub which has some untidy grass on its boundary. A small bird was seen feeding well and totally oblivious of the passing footfall. It was a Chiffchaff, my first of the year and a totally unexpected find!

Earlier in the morning, after setting up our market stall, our walk coincided with the sun rising over Bridlington Bay.
