Avocet
The opportunity to visit the WWT Slimbridge Reserve with the Rugby Natural History Society See Here was too good to miss. The trip by coach saw 40+ members enjoying the day, ably organised by David Knapp - thank you David. I'm always worried when visiting reserves which also hold captive species, never knowing if the birds seen are truly wild! The following images have all been taken from the "wild side"! Four year ticks in the form of White Wagtail, Swift, Avocet and Mediterranean Gull were pleasing as was my closest ever views of a drake Garganey and Common Crane (seven in total).
Avocet
