Bempton Cliffs Walk (Pre-sunrise) - 13th October 2024

I often think that the pre-sunrise is better than the actual sunrise! This morning, on my walk to the cliffs, a thick cloud base was over the eastern horizon, usually meaning a subdued sunrise and the scene burning out as the sun breaches the clouds. I also like the bright and dark combinations of the pre-sunrise, with nature awakening around you. A cold start with a chilling wind typified an autumnal dawn.

With the brightness arriving in the east, it would be easy to forget to look behind and to the west.

Thank you for looking.
