Scarborough Harbour - 30th October 2024

The Reverend had church business in Scarborough this morning, giving me and Symphony the opportunity of having a wander around the harbour area. Very quiet bird wise with only a couple of Red Throated Divers, at a distance in the bay, an even more distant Goldeneye, and a solitary Redshank. Good job I get a buzz out of landscapes! 😇

We decided to take a seat on the harbourside while waiting for the Reverend, and Symphony was enjoying being fussed by a couple sitting next to us. All of a sudden, people started taking photos around us! Did they suddenly realise how famous we were 😇? No! I turned to look behind and there was a Barn Owl staring at me! An owl rescue group was setting up a display. I have to say that the two Barn Owls, Snowy Owl and Bengali Eagle Owl were far more aesthetically pleasing than the Herring Gulls that mysteriously scarpered!

Buckton Village Walk (Landscapes) - 29th October 2024

Buckton Pond

Following on from this mornings Bempton walk, we headed out and completed a walk through Buckton. Better weather as well, no drizzle and blue sky, and still very mild.

I will be very sad to see the old barns disappear as they have such character. Sadly, planning is in place to demolish / convert the buildings into homes / second homes for rich people. I much prefer character!
