Thornwick Pool, Flamborough - 9th October 2018

Little Stint

Reports yesterday indicated the arrival of a Little Stint at Thornwick Pool but I was unable to get and hoped it would still be present this morning. Arriving at the hide, my heart sank as I could not see the bird but eventually I found it in front of the photo pod hide so dashed around in order to see it at close range. Another year tick!

Interestingly, a Goldeneye was also found yesterday and hung around waiting for me to take it's picture! Unfortunately the light was poor and a lot of grain tended to spoil my efforts! This bird appeared as a bird of two different sides!

Also present was a Grey Heron

And several Teal

A Mute Swan overflew the pool.
