RSPB Bempton Cliffs

This was our first visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs as "trainee" volunteers, assisting visitors on the viewing platforms. At the moment, things are quiet with few birds on the cliffs (they look very naked!) and reduced visitor numbers, making it an ideal time to get started before the "season"! Increasing numbers of Gannets and Fulmars are present but the Auks are still to arrive in numbers, although several hundred Guillemots are spending time between the cliffs and sea, but only four were seen on the sea today. I will be volunteering on Sundays and Heather on Tuesdays so any Midlands birders give us a shout if you are in the area.
