Brandon Marsh and Cathiron Feeders

Sunrise over Newlands

The day showed promise, but, unfortunately after the sunrise, the cloud rolled in and light rain began to fall! I had decided to travel light with just bins and 400mm prime, my aim to increase my year list. I'm glad I didn't lug my 500mm around as the deteriorating light allowed only high ISO record shots!

On leaving Brandon Marsh, I decided to have a look at the Cathiron Feeders. I had forgotten to put some seed in the car, but was interested to see that someone had filled the feeders with complete slices of bread and corned beef! Perhaps they expected the birds to make a sandwich! Luckily, there was enough seed around to attract the birds, but the light? Don't go there!
