Brandon Marsh - 22nd October 2014

Grey Wagtail

A long overdue visit to Brandon Marsh saw Ian and myself arriving c0800hrs. It was a pleasant morning, warming as the day progressed. The reserve and pools were quite quiet with nothing exceptional showing! A single Green Sandpiper was located at the far end of Teal Pool, an obliging Grey Wagtail preened on one of the Kingfisher poles at Carlton Hide and a male Stonechat was chased around Newlands by Reed Buntings. Overhead, a large passage of Wood Pigeons, c400 was impressive. A male Common Darter was found on the bench near Carlton Hide. A full list of species seen can be found at the end of this post.
