Chiffchaff
Having just finished a long stint of nine twelve hour shifts over the "festive period", I needed to get out in the fresh air and decided on an afternoon visit to Draycote Water. Of course, several aims could be achieved - getting my 2013 list off to a start and to try out my new to me 7D. Bird wise not too bad with a good selection of waterfowl but I missed out on the well reported drake Smew. Good views of a Grey Wagtail along Farborough Bank, three Chiffchaff's in with a flock of Long Tailed Tits near the bird hide, and a good flock of c170 Lapwings and c250 Golden Plovers heading over towards Grandborough.
Camera wise, consider this work in progress as I struggled with the weather - drizzle and gloom, I struggled with the settings, camera shake and focus! All in all - I enjoyed the walk!

ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to catch up with Draycote. Nice to see the Grey Wagtail, I don't think I saw one at all in 2012, mind you I didn't get to Draycote much which is where I see them most. Did you mean the Canon 7D (I don't know the 70D)? I have the 7D and have struggled with the settings for twelve months or more!!
Happy New Year Jan.
ReplyDeleteTypo error! Yes I did mean 7D!
